A lot of the walks on this tour are on quite uneven and rocky terrain, where it can be beneficial to walk with walking poles. The poles can help in getting across creeks, walking on uneven surfaces, up steep sections and will also reduce the pressure on the knees on steep downhill sections. If, however you feel like your knees and legs are fit enough, and your balance is pretty good, you do not need to bring hiking poles.
